Cake for all Season's

A friend asked me to make this for a going away party she was having.

Her son is in the military and won't be home to celebrate any of the holidays with the family. She wanted a cake representing all the major holidays.

I figured insteat of edible images I'd try my hand at frozen buttercream (FCB). It worked out great, and I must say it's a lot less expensive than the edible images. I'll be doing a lot more of these.

Graduations Everywhere

Just to let everyone know, when it comes to baking I LOVE a challenge and my daughters sister gave me one this year.

She contacted me asking if I'd make her graduation cake. Of course I said yes (she's such a sweet girl). Next she told me what she wanted WOW......

I said sure I'd take a wack at it, like I said I like a challenge, and here it is......

Yellow cake with all butter cream except for the stripes, labels and tassel they are fondant and the top of the cap is chocolate.

I Did It

Wow I'm so excited I finally did it! I guess you'd like to know what that is. Well I finally made my first Wedding Cake.

I've been trying for years to find my niche and I realized it's been in front of me all the time. I've always loved to cook and bake but never put it all together. In the past few months I've been baking for friends and family and realized how much I love it and the fun and creative things that can be made. Baking is such a great way to show your creativity, but it's also a great way to relax. It doesn't matter what's bothering me as soon as I start with my research and decorating . I forget about it and just get lost in what I'm creating. It makes me feel so good when I can make something for someones special day and it makes them so happy.

We have to go for our dreams no matter how far out there they may seem. We are all meant to be successful and it's up to us to find that success.

Marisa's Cake

My 7yr old decorated this cake. She did a pretty darn good job. She has so much fun doing these with me. Hopefully she'll go into business with me making specialty cakes.
This is a yellow cake covered with buttercream icing and white fondant. She used cookie cutters to cut out the designs.

Vegas Anniversary Cake

This is the anniversary cake I made for one of my daughters good friends. Guess where they got married lol. They didn't have a wedding cake so they asked me to make this for them.

This was a lot of fun to make, I love a challenge. I used yellow cake, buttercream icing and covered with fondant. Instead of lights I used dregees, I haven't figured out how to do the electrical stuff yet. The welcome part was made with cupcakes.
